« Première » musique française pour basson et piano Ryan Romine et Sangi Lim
Ryan D. Romine was born and raised in Newark, OH. He began studying the bassoon in 10th grade after five years as a percussionist and saxophonist. From 2000 to 2004, he attended The Ohio State University, earning an undergraduate degree in music éducation while studying with Christopher Weait. Ryan then continued on to Michigan State University, where he earned his MM and DMA in bassoon performance, studying with Michael Kroth. After graduating from MSU in 2009, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Bassoon and Music Theory at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA.
Since his appointment, Ryan has made numerous récital and teaching appearances in Virginia and across the United States, including Tempe, AZ ; Norman, OK ; Bâton Rouge, LA ; Hammond, LA ; Redlands, CA ; East Lansing, MI ; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is a bassoonist with the New Orchestra of Washington (Bethesda, MD) and also serves as a regular substitute bassoonist with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra (Roanoke, VA) and Opéra Roanoke.
In the summers, Ryan teaches on the faculty of the Roanoke (VA) Youth Symphony Summer Music Institute as well as the New England Music Camp in Sidney, ME, where he is an instructor of bassoon, music theory, and chamber music.
Ryan plays a Fox 666 with a Leitzinger VM2 platinum bocal. More information can be found at his resource website for bassoonists, ryanromine.net. Pianist Sangmi Lim, a native of the Republic of Korea, is an active performer, appearing frequently as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist. Sangmi has performed regularly in Republic of Korea, Japan, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and throughout the United States. She has appeared as soloist with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra (U.S.), the MSU Symphony Orchestra (U.S.), Jackson Symphony Orchestra (U.S.), the Algeu Symphony (Germany), and the Kyounggi Philharmonie Orchestra (South Korea) in concertos ranging from Beethoven to Gershwin. She has given solo récitals and chamber music performances in concert series and festivals such as the Renaissance Festival (Italy), South Hampton Music Festival (New York), Schubertiade (Chicago), West Circle Séries (Michigan), Lansing Symphony Chamber Music Series (Michigan), the Rising New Star Concert Series (Republic of Korea), Live Concert Series with ArirangTV (Republic of Korea) and Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Sangmi received her B.M. and M.M. in Piano Performance at Ewha Womans University in Korea and her M.M. in Collaborative Piano and D.M.A. at Michigan State University. Currently she is an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and a piano instructor at MSU Community Music School and New England Music Camp.

Après avoir été diplômé de l'Université d'état du Michigan en 2009 il obtint le poste d'assistant professeur de basson et théorie musicale au conservatoire Shenandoah à Winchester, Virginie.
Dès ce moment, Ryan a donné de nombreux récitals en Virginie et à travers les États-Unis, comme à Tempe, AZ; Norman, OK; Baton Rouge, LA; Hammond, LA; Redland, CA; East Lansing, MI; San Juan, Porto Rico. Elle a été soliste au Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra (U.S.), au MSU Symphony Orchestra (U.S.), au Jackson Symphony Orchestra (U.S.), au Algeu Symphony (Allemagne) et au Kyounggi Philharmonic Orchestra (République de Corée) dans des concertos allant de Beethoven à Gerschwin.
